Rainbow Bears Preschool has been providing quality care and education for children between birth to five years in Henderson for over 20 years.
All of our staff are either fully trained and registered teachers, or currently in training.

Routines
We have a Nursery area where we cater for 12 babies from birth to two years old.
The 2-5 year old programme provides an integrated learning area, which also includes a personalised “Transition to School” programme.

What We Offer
We strive on providing the most nurturing and safe environment for children to grow, learn, participate and contribute to their own learning. By delivering free play alongside structured learning we believe that this provides children the opportunity to gain empowerment over their mind, body and spirit ensuring holistic development.

Meals
All our teachers acknowledge me ona tikanga and the principles inherent in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, along with the commitment to working in partnership with whanau and the community.
The concepts of whanaungatanga, manaaki tanga, ako, wananga, tangata whenuatanga, and aroha, are evident in aspects of our service operations and are implemented through the use of Te reo Maori. We believe in upholding and ensuring the mana, mauri, and wairua of not only the child and their families but also the staff and centre as a whole.
We offer Free half day sessions (up to 20 Hours per week) for all 3 and 4 year olds.
You maybe eligible for support towards the costs of childcare through WINZ subsidies. We have WINZ forms and information available at the centre to assist you.
A full schedule of fees is available from the centre when you come in and have a look around, or at your request.
All our meals are prepared daily at the centre by our cook. Careful attention has been given to providing a balanced nutritional diet that your child will enjoy. Our four weekly menu has been developed in consultation with the Heart Foundation of New Zealand.
Fresh fruit and vegetables will form part of every meal and drinking water will be available at all times. By preparing the meals at the centre we hope to provide opportunities for children to learn about food and nutrition and why it is important to their health. Allergies, food intolerances and special dietary requirements are a shared responsibility of children’s family and the centre.
